Gasoline Inventories Up
U.S. gasoline stockpiles rose by 800,000 barrels, or 0.4 percent, last week to 204.1 million barrels for the week ending July 20, the Energy Department's Energy Information Administration said in its weekly report. Inventories of the motor fuel were 3.6 percent below year-ago levels.
U.S. refineries ran at 92.5 percent of their total production capacity on average, up 0.9 percentage points from the previous week. Crude oil inventories dropped by 1.1 million barrels to 351 million barrels as refiners processed more oil to make gasoline.
The report also showed that stocks of distillate fuel, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 1.5 million barrels to 123.7 million barrels.
The average national retail price of a gallon of regular gasoline fell about 1 overnight to $2.95 Wednesday , according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Retail prices peaked at $3.23 a gallon in late May.
Ha vuelto a aumentar el % de capacidad de refino en uso hasta niveles ya muy altos (y difíciles de mejorar), resultando en un modesto incremento de las reservas de gasolina que no cubre ni la mitad de lo bajado el miércoles pasado.
